Car show detail in Dallas

Do you have a vehicle that you need to get ready for an upcoming car show? I understand that every car is different and the amount of prep will be different for every car! This Corvette was in need of some love to get it  ready for a indoor car show in Dallas Texas called Super Car Expo. I only had a few days with the car and with the possibility of a vinyl wrap in the future a full paint correction was not performed. A light polish(buff) and some magic tricks were performed to bring out the gloss in the paint!

Evaluating the paint condition

One the most important things to do is properly evaluate the paint. This will ensure I understand the condition of the paint and what processes need to be performed to have the car looking its best! What issues did I find with the black paint on this corvette?

Pigtail defects most likely caused by a DA sander.

Swirl marks and marring dulls the appearance of the paint

In the First picture if you look closely you can see what looks to be a curl like scratch pattern which is called a pigtail. This is usually caused by dirt or some type of abrasive particle that gets trapped between the face of the sanding paper and the paint. The oscillating motion of the machine causes this defect. The second picture shows swirl marks and marring commonly caused by improper washing techniques. 

Can a car show detail prep make my car look better?

Yes! Even though there was not enough time to complete a full paint correction to perfect the paint I was able to improve most of the defects and add tons of gloss to make sure this corvette was show worthy!
